The Merritt Trading Post Resort shared to their Facebook page on Thursday evening, May 30, 2019, a few pictures of the road on Highway 97, approximately one mile south of the reservoir at mile marker 109. The post shared that they had several people asking about the road condition and wanted to make sure that people didn’t ignore the road closure warning. They advise not to attempt to cross 97 until the roads department reopens it and to detour on Highway 83. Estimates were that the water was at least 3 feet deep, if not more. That being said, the campground is still accessible, Merritt Lake is still open for recreation, and the fishing has been good.
