Nebraska kicks off its 2026 season Saturday against Ohio at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m., and the game will be televised by FS1. CSC Opens 2026 Football Season vs. Northern State Thursday
Chadron State football to open season this week. With high hopes for another excellent season, the Chadron State College football team will open its schedule by playing the Northern State Wolves at Aberdeen, S.D., on Thursday, August 27 at 5 p.m. MT. The Eagles had an 8-4 overall record, were 8-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and advanced to the NCAA Division II playoffs last season. Walleye Egg Harvest Collects 97 Million Eggs
Reports to KVSH Radio indicate the fishing spawn egg harvest at Merritt Reservoir was very successful. Local Conservation officer Dana Miller was on the KVSH Comment program and reported Nebraska Game and Parks personnel had nets out for four nights over the past couple of weeks and caught 776 females on those four nights. 470 females were spawning and crews gathered 97 million walleye eggs to help populate fisheries in the state. The women’s Husker Basketball team celebrated hearing their name called for the third consecutive year, when the 68 bids for the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship were announced during the ESPN Selection Show on Sunday evening. Boys Finish Great Season at 23 and 4

The Valentine boy's basketball team bested Hemingford Monday night in the district final game to earn a trip to the state tournament for the first time in 22 years. VMS Basketball Defeats Todd County
Thanks Brandi Daugherty The middle school boys' basketball team concluded its season on Tuesday night with a 43–33 victory over Todd County. 2 Sets of Siblings will compete for Badgers at State
Among the 12 Badger wrestlers that have qualified for individual state championships, there are two sets of siblings that will compete in Omaha this week.
