VALENTINE, NE: Outdoor Family Fun Day, scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2019, has been cancelled due to poor predicted weather and conditions. It will not be rescheduled this year, but look for the event again next year. Concurrently, the Niobrara Council’s River Clean-Up and Bird Hike with the Northern Prairies Land Trust, scheduled for the same day, have also been cancelled due to the weather.
“Forecasted thunderstorms put both participants and staff at risk in a place with limited shelter,” said Steve Thede, Superintendent for the Niobrara National Scenic River. “We felt it safer for all involved if we cancelled Outdoor Family Fun Day this year. We will try again next year!”
