The North Central RC&D council met for a regular meeting on Wednesday in Bassett.
A report on the recent electronics recycling effort in O’Niell resulted in nearly 1,000 pounds of electronics dropped off for recycling. The RC&D is planning additional electronics recycling efforts in Valentine, Bassett, Springview and Spencer in June. Details are being worked out and more information will be released in the near future.
Rod Stolcpart is retiring this month as the Rock County weed superintendent and also resigned his position as Treasurer of the RC&D after serving in that capacity for over 30 years. Rod has also been the Rock County Weed Superintendent for 32 years.
The Stuart community is pursuing a grant for glass recycling with the assistance of the RC&D. The group will also investigate a tire amnesty grant for the region.
