Information about the contest was sent to five local schools with three participating, 232 posters were received. After screening for rule compliance, posters were judged by combat veterans of Vietnam. Six posters were selected to go on to state competition:
Class I ~ Lilybet Rolfe
Class II ~ Colton Pilakowski
Class III ~ John Gibson
Class IV ~ Joslyn Yarborough
Class V ~ Julia Mathews
Class VII ~ Cate Salters
All posters will be displayed at the 1884 Day Pancake Breakfast sponsored by the American Legion Family on Saturday April 27. The first prize winners will showcased on the south wall of the basement, with those six posters going to state featured.
Everyone visiting at the Veteran’s Club Saturday morning will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite poster (not going to state) in the Public Choice ballot. This will enable three more students a special chance to be recognized.
