The Cherry County Commissioners met on Tuesday for a regular meeting.  A conditional use permit was approved for US Cellular to construct a new tower and a permit was also approved to rebuild the county communications tower south of Nenzel. The communication tower collapsed in a March storm.

Public hearings were set for April 30th for two proposed amendments to Cherry County Zoning regulations from Bill Weller and Wayne Eatinger.  Both amendments are in reference to proposed wind development. The hearings will begin at 3 and 3:30 CT at the courthouse.  On January 29th, the commissioners asked for facts from the planning commission to support their recommendation for approval of both amendments.  That information was submitted to the commissioner through the zoning administration office.

There was some discussion of disaster relief and damage assessments but no action taken.
