Several Valentine citizens and business people continue to work on new designs for Valentine’s Main Street in cooperation with the Nebraska Department of Transportation. The construction project is still scheduled for bid letting in 2020 and construction in 2021 and 22.
Local citizens will have valuable input on the final design. This process started last October with the 3 day Main St Vision 2022 workshop.
Groups have continued to work since that time in the area of street scape design, lighting, art and beautification as well as retail and economic development.
The group met last evening at Mid Plain College in Valentine. The group will continue to meet and work on such topics as street lights, sidewalk design, artwork overall layout. Preliminary design work is slated to be completed around May 1st. The public is still welcome to participate in this ongoing process. Contact Mike Burge at 402 376 6842.
