The Cherry County Sheriff’s Office notified KVSH Radio that phone scams continue to be abundant and would like to remind the public to never give personal information over the phone. One of the latest scams involves using a child to ask for their grandmother, as well as demand money. The scammers are able to spoof, or clone, any phone number, and this one shows up as a government agency office in Colorado Springs, CO, with a 719 area code.
The Sheriff’s Office is aware of this scam and remind the public to stay vigilant.
