NK Waste & Recycling in Valentine and North Central RC&D announce the opening of glass recycling in Valentine. Citizens are now able to take glass to the Recycling Center. There will be a bin for glass along with the other recycling bins.

There will be a grand opening with a ribbon cutting Oct 3rd at the Recycling Center. The open house will be from 2-3 with the ribbon cutting at 2:30. There will be prizes so bring your stocked up glass. Refreshments will be served. A representative from Ripple Glass will also be there.

Neil Wescott commented about bringing glass recycling to Northern Nebraska, “This is a good thing to offer for the community and it is great that Ripple Glass is being so innovative by collecting and processing glass.”

President of the RC&D Mike Burge added, “This is a great addition to the other recycling opportunities we have assisted in offering for the members of the 6 counties we serve. This and the new bunker that will be opening soon in Bristow brings glass recycling to Northern Nebraska.”

The Valentine glass bunker was partially funded by the Nebraska Environmental Trust. The City of Bristow glass recycling services is partially funded by the Nebraska DEQ.

Glass that can be accepted includes food and beverage containers, all colors of glass, no need to sort. Labels and caps can remain on the glass. You can also recycle glassware such as wine or pint glasses.Plate glass can also be accepted if pre-approved by Ripple – info@rippleglass.com , all hardware, framing, casings, and spacers must be removed.

Items that can’t be accepted —

No Laminated glass                                                                       No Windshields

No Ceramic, porcelain or milk glass                                       No boxes or bags used to bring the glass.

No mirrors.

Glass, along with your other recyclables can be dropped off at the NK Recycling Center on Development Street off Airport Road.
