Valentine Middle School will be conducting a drill to prepare for a Lockdown and Evacuation situation on Thursday, September 13th, at the end of the school day. The Valentine Police Department, Cherry County Sheriff’s Department, and Valentine Volunteer Fire Department will be assisting in the drill. Students will be dismissed from the Presbyterian Church at the end of the drill. If your child needs picked up after school, we ask that you pick them up from the Presbyterian Church, 325 N Victoria St. If your student walks after school, we ask that you have a conversation with them about what route they will need to use. We will continue to drill these situations at least twice a year to help prepare our students. After this notification, we will not be sending out letters or having it announced on different media outlets. These drills will become routine, just as our fire and tornado drills are. The Valentine Police Department, Cherry County Sheriff’s Department, and the Valentine Volunteer Fire Department will continue working with Valentine Community Schools to help develop and carry out our drills.

The Valentine Elementary School and Valentine High School will be holding their drills at a later date. Information for this will be released at a later time.
