Cody Kilgore School Board will have a regular meeting on July 14 at 6:30MT in the FACS Room. This month’s agenda will include a building project update and setting a budget retreat, budget hearing and special tax hearing. According to CK School Superintendent Ryan Orrock, the construction of the new elementary school in Kilgore is complete and they are in their last month of payments for construction. A “grand opening” event will be held on August 14th with a meal provided. More details on the grand opening will be released in the next few weeks.
On a related note, the first day of classes for Cody Kilgore middle and high school students will be August 13th in Cody, while the start day for the elementary school will be August 18th in order to give faculty a chance to acclimate themselves to the new school and it’s layout.
