NORTH PLATTE, Neb. – The 60th Association of Nebraska Art Clubs (ANAC) Conference was held in North Platte in early June at Mid-Plains Community College’s south campus. Several area artists found success at the conference.
A unique-to-Nebraska event, ANAC includes 34 art clubs that have their own shows before descending on each year’s host community. This year’s show featured 280 pieces, judged by Behmaz Ahmadian from Colorado, who also taught a mixed media workshop all three days of the conference.
Several area artists left ANAC with awards. Linda Teahon of Dunning and the Thedford Art Guild received Honorable Mention for her metal photo titled ‘Heads Up’.
Other area artists exhibiting were Thedford Art Guild members Bec Ray, Megan and Terri Licking, and Mullen Art Center members Kyle Hoyt, Twila Phillips, and Nicole Hoffmann.
Dave Dorsey of Valentine took home Best of Show for an acrylic painting titled ‘Barn Swallow’.
