Paulsen Construction has begun placing concrete pavement in the section of roadway between Edna Street and Wood Street. The new roadway will be 9-inch-thick doweled concrete with a 12-foot driving lane and a 9-foot concrete shoulder.
Preparation for placement of this new roadway required the removal of the existing concrete by Barnes construction, grading and subgrade placement by Perrett
Construction, and removal and relocation of the existing street lighting by IES INC.
Rutjens Construction Inc. continues utility work. New Water Mains are in place; Sanitary Sewer placement is underway as well as Storm Sewer placement. These utility replacements are a betterment for the City of Valentine, upgrading utilities under the new roadway. City Utility personnel have participated and are involved with the Water Main and Sanitary Sewer placement.
The work is on schedule with project completion scheduled for this fall.
