During the week of May 25th to May 31st, the following arrests were made by the
Valentine Police Department:
On May 30th at approximately 2:00 AM, a traffic stop near the intersection of 3rd
and Cherry Streets lead to the arrest of a 21 year old South Dakota woman on the
charge of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.
Also on May 30th, at approximately 6:00 PM, an officer observed a vehicle speeding
on 5th Street. The vehicle was stopped near the intersection of 5th and Government
Streets. The driver of the vehicle, a 21 year old Nebraska man, was subsequently
arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana
less than one ounce, and Resisting Arrest.
During the week, officers responded to 48 calls for service, including:
17 traffic stops
4 disturbances
3 welfare checks
2 animal complaints
3 harassment complaints
2 Motorist Assists
2 trespassing complaints
