The American Legion Auxiliary continues their efforts to replace the round brass markers for veterans’ graves at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine.  According to Karen Potter, these efforts have raised $525 to date.  Their goal is $2,000 to replace each of the markers at a cost of about $20 each.  This would replace broken and missing markers from veterans’ graves at the cemetery.  Donations can be mailed to Box 331 or dropped off at KVSH Radio studios.  You may also contact Michelle Garwood, Karen Potter or Ashley Blume-Vackiner at the Veterans’ Service Office on Main Street in Valentine.

On a related note, the American Legion family will be placing flags and crosses at Mt. Hope on Monday May 19th at 6:30pm and all volunteers are welcome to help.
