At about 8pm Sunday evening, the Cherry County Hospital Ambulance Service, Valentine Volunteer Fire Department, Cherry County Sheriff’s Office, Valentine Police Department and Game and Parks Officers responded to the fish hatchery dam northeast of Valentine after a call came in to dispatch alerting authorities to the report of a 17 year old male who had fallen into the water and did not resurface. After a short time on scene, it was determined that the call was a hoax. The Cherry County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate this event, and KVSH news will provide updates as more official information becomes available.
