Preparations are underway to resume work on the West 4th Street Project in Valentine. Work on this project includes
reconstructing US-83, which requires removing and replacing the existing concrete pavement. The project also includes
improvements to sidewalks, storm sewer, roadway lighting and repairs to the bridge over Minnechaduza Creek. The City
of Valentine plans to update city owned utilities
along US-83/4th Street concurrently with this project. Currently trees are being removed as part of the clearing and grubbing work. Next expect some traffic control signs
to be placed on HWY 83 in preparation for storm
sewer placement. This storm sewer work will be completed along the shoulder with no detour in place. Storm Sewer placement is scheduled to begin April 14th. This project would complement the Main Street project that was completed a couple of years ago with all new roadway
surface from the Highway 83 and 20 intersections on South Main St, to the Minnechaduza Bridge on Highway 83 North of town.
