At the Cherry County Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday morning, the commissioners approved the conditional use permit (CUP #25-01) application from Harvey Kunz with Outback Sales, LLC Poly Outdoor Furniture Fabrication Shop. Harvey intends to create a family business in north central Cherry County building plastic furniture using recycled materials that would come in from either Chicago or Wisconsin. The recycled materials come in the form of various dimensions of plastic lumber which would then be fabricated and assembled into various forms of furniture. The scraps, “sawdust” etc. would then be sold back to the recycling company from which it was originally purchased. Kunz stated that similar operations in the Midwest sell as far away as the west coast, but that he hoped to have a local outlet, as well.
