For the first time in the school’s history the Valentine Badger dance team
won the State Championship in C2/D jazz and 2nd in C2 Pom at Nebraska State High
School Dance Championships in Grand Island on February 21.
The teams beat out 17 others to get the Runner Up trophy in Pom - a very large category.
Valentine lost to Lincoln Lutheran by just 1.5 points.
They were awarded an academic award for their cumulative GPA of 3.9.
This team was led by Coach Amy Arganbright and consists of Seniors Candece
Swanson and Jenalee Garwood, Sophomores Katelyn Bitner and Rylee Wackler,
and Freshmen Danika Janssen, Addison Stec, and Haddison Mundorf.
The Badger Cheer team also competed for the first time at State. They
received an academic award also for their cumulative team GPA. The team
did not medal in C2 Game Day routine, but had a stellar performance. They
were coached by Danielle Arganbright.
