Governor Jim Pillen ordered that all U.S. and state flags be flown at half-staff on Thursday, Feb. 27, for the funeral of Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) Trooper Kyle McAcy. McAcy was killed in the line of duty on Feb. 17 while responding to the scene of a crash on I-80. Services will begin at 11 o’clock that morning at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Ralston. Flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise until sunset that day.

The Nebraska State Patrol, family, friends, and supporters will gather to honor and remember Trooper Kyle McAcy #302 on Thursday,
February 27.

The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 27, at Liberty
First Credit Union Arena, at 7300 Q Street, Ralston, Nebraska. The public is welcome
to attend the service.

Prior to the funeral service, there will be a law enforcement procession. The public
is also encouraged to line the route to show their support for Trooper McAcy and his
family. Specific details on the route will be released at a later time.

For those wishing to pay their respects or to honor Trooper McAcy prior to the
funeral service, his #302 cruiser is currently parked outside NSP’s Troop A
Headquarters as a memorial. Cards can also be sent to the Troop A Headquarters, at
4411 S. 108th Street, Omaha, NE, 68137.
