Work continues, when weather permits, on construction of the new Minnechaduza concrete
girder bridge three miles east of Valentine on HWY 12. The Bridge superstructure is built, with the Bridge Deck and Concrete Paving to follow. Current planning has placement of the
Bridge Deck mid-March, with the road open to traffic mid-April. General Excavating has set
five of the largest girders ever used in Nebraska.
Work to improve the project detour continues. NDOT Maintenance and Cherry County forces
continue to make improvements, address issues, and work to make this detour safer.
Work on the bridge began after labor day 2024 and should be done before Memorial Day of this year.
