The Valentine Chamber of Commerce will continue to promote the Heart City’s business community in the coming weeks. There are currently 56 teams entered for the Cork Thornton Memorial Ice Fishing Tournament on January 24th and 25th. Teams can sign up right up to the rules meeting at the fairgrounds on the 24th. This panfish tournament will feature two person teams and 100% payout with over $20,000 in prizes.
The Chamber’s Valentine’s Day events kick off on February 14th with the annual ping pong ball drop at 5:30, as well as the Chili Cook-Off and the “Chocolate Lovers’ Dream contest, inviting area residents to share your most decadent chocolate creations, from cookies to candy, cakes, desserts, and more. $250 in prize money in the chilli cook off and $100 in the chocolate contest. Chili and Chocolate entries just need to show up before 5:30 on the 14th at the fairgrounds.
The special cachets are now available at the post office to stamp your Valentines. The official Valentine from Valentine, designed by Lacey Lemmers, should be available in the next couple of days.
