At the Thursday evening meeting of the Valentine City Council, it was decided to pursue funding for the proposed wellness center through an application for a Sports Arena Facility Financing Assistance Act grant.  Prior to this motion, Patrick Moore with Goodlife Architecture presented a couple options for a wellness center that is currently proposed to be built on land between the Valentine elementary and high schools.  The goal, said Moore, is to get as many of the proposed or requested amenities built-in to the project while keeping the cost below 8 million dollars.  The proposal on the left would be at about $7 million, the proposal shown on the right would be $7.4 million.  This would not include the cost of gym equipment, office furniture, etc.

A purchase agreement was approved for the property at 115 N. Edna Street built through the Economic Development department to ease the housing problems in Valentine, with the buyer agreeing to the original asking price.
