KVSH Radio has confirmed that Cherry County Hospital’s general surgeon, Richard M. Malyszek will be leaving after February. Dr. Malyszek has confirmed that his last day at CCH will be February 28, 2025. Dr. Malyszek stated that he has accepted an opportunity in Denison, IA. He has served the region for about 5 years who, according to Cherry County Hospital’s staff biography page, is a board-certified general and trauma surgeon at Cherry County Hospital. He is a veteran who has served as the Chief of General Surgery and completed two tours of duty, including Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq. Dr. Malyszek has joined KVSH for a monthly program, Ask Dr. Rick which airs the last Friday of each month. The final two episodes will air on January 31 and on February 28th.
