In a recent release to KVSH Radio, Open Plains Transit director Jonnie Kusek stated that “Due to prolonged delays in operating reimbursement costs, from multiple government agencies at various level, all Open Plains Transit services have bee suspended. Open Plains Transit hopes for this to be a temporary situation and for services to be reinstated by December 18th of this year.”
The disruption in this service has presented a hardship to many residents who relied on Open Plains for transportation to doctor and dental appointments as well as trip to Senior Center and to grocery store.
While appearing on the KVSH Comment Program this morning, Kusek stated that this will effect all facets of public transportation in the Valentine area.
During the discussion on KVSH, Kusek stated that it would be good for local people to voice concerns to elected officials at all levels including state senators or even US Representatives.
