A voltage issue on Monday morning was reported to the City of Valentine’s electric department. According to City Manager Shane Siewart, electrical crews were working to resolve the problem that left about 76 customers without power from 2nd street to 8th street, on the east side of Main Street and the west side of north Hall. Siewart stated that a failing transformer was the culprit leading to low voltage and outages to customers in the area. After identifying the cause of the outage, crews worked to replace the bad transformer and slowly return service to city electric customers. The City of Valentine thanks affected customers for their patience.
