A late afternoon call from a Denver Air-Traffic Control tower to Cherry County Dispatch led to a few tense moments Saturday afternoon.  Emergency crews responded to a distress call from a medical air flight en-route to Rapid City, SD to pick up a patient.  According to radio traffic, the call was due to possible smoke in the cabin.  Upon landing at Valentine’s Miller Airfield, the pilot gave emergency crews on the ground the “thumbs up” indicating that all was well.

It is thought that there may have been some electrical problems with the plane, however the smoke had cleared and local emergency crews were cancelled within about 10 minutes of the aircraft landing.
