The Valentine Volunteer Fire Department responded just before 11am on Thanksgiving Thursday to the 500 block of north Macomb Street in Valentine. According to fire chief Terry Engels, an oven element was broken or malfunctioning and was to blame for the fire call. The oven was unplugged prior to the arrival of fire trucks, and with the use of the fire department’s thermal imaging FLIR camera, it was determined that no further action was needed by firemen before they returned to the fire hall.
