Valentine police Chief Dana Miller has submitted her resignation from the City of Valentine to accept another position 
with Nebraska Game and Parks.
Miller told KVSH News that it has been a pleasure serving in the Valentine Community and she is not leaving the area.
Game and Parks opened a second duty station in the Valentine area which she will be filling. First she must take some
additional training to reacquaint herself with new procedures of Game and Parks. Chief Miller has served in the Valentine
Police Department for 18 years, the last ten as Police Chief. Prior to that she was a Game Officer for 9 years starting
in 1996. She has previous experience as a park ranger in Colorado and in dispatch.
Miller stated that natural resources enforcement has always been her passion and she is excited to return to the field. While serving as Police Chief, Miller stressed community involvement, communication and transparency in the department. Her last day with VPD will be November 27th and she will begin work with Game and Parks on December 14th.
