Valentine Volunteer Firemen as well as emergency medical personnel from the Cherry County Hospital Ambulance service responded to the report of a house fire on the 200 block of north Western Street in Valentine. At about 6:15 Sunday evening, emergency personnel arrived to find the interior of the home completely engulfed in flames. The structure was considered a total loss. Once the blaze was extinguished and mop up duties were finished, firemen returned to the fire hall after about an hour and a half on scene. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Nebraska State Fire Marshall’s Office.
