On November 15th KVSH Radio will help the Heart City Theater group with their fund raising endeavor for a new theater in Valentine. Members of the group will “take over” the airwaves on KVSH to read the news and weather and introduce songs as we talk about the new community ran theater on Main Street.

Following grants from Union Bank and Trust and Cherry County Tourism, along with a loan of $100,000 form The City of Valentine and a contribution of $25,000 from Mike Young, the group has a goal of raising $150,000 in private donations. They will also plan to submit other grant applications to reach the $500,000 total they need.

They have already purchased the building on Main Street from Mike and Sheila Young and will be looking for physical help in remodeling including demolition when the time comes.

The business plan at this time include showing movies on Friday through Sunday or by special arrangements. Community members will be asked to help operate the theater which is still searching for an official name.

Be sure to tune in on November 15th from 10 to noon and 1 to 3 for the telethon on KVSH Radio. Your locally owned radio station.
