In the 2024 elections, VCS and Valentine City Council races were decided Tuesday evening.  According to the Cherry County Clerk’s office, incumbents Jo Hand and Shane Kime as well as challenger Michelle Kluender received the most votes and will be seated in the next cycle on the Valentine Community School board. Byron Burdick was 4th in vote total James B. Ward 5th and Lyndee Elliot was 6th. For the Valentine City Council, the winners were Max Eggert and incumbents Ross Brockley and Kyle Arganbright, in the order. Incumbent Kallie Kieborz finished 4th and Jason Gale was 5th.

Tanya Storer defeated Tony Tangwall for the 43rd Legislative seat by 4,000 votes and Deb Fischer held off a challenge from Dan Osborn for US Senate.  At last report Donald Trump had 277 Electoral Votes to win the presidency over Kamala Harris 224. Candidates need 270 to win.

Martin DeNaeyer was re-elected as county commissioner and Judge James Orr was approved for county court judge.
