There are currently 30 matches in the Valentine Chapter of Teammates Mentoring program. Coordinator Angie Jordan told KVSH that they could use more mentors as there is a waiting list of students who have singed up as mentees. Mentors would meet once per week with the student in the school where they focus on building friendships by interacting with games, talking, or working on projects. 83% of Mentors say they feel more engaged at home or work because of the relationship with students. Currently students can be from 3rd grade through high school age. There is greater need for male mentors, but Jordan says they can certainly use female mentors as well.
