The 2024 Prairie Circuit Finals Rodeo took place October 17-19 in Duncan, Oklahoma.
Valentine native Mataya Eklund had an outstanding performance in the barrel racing, placing third in rounds one and two, and grabbing second place in round three. Her consistency paid off, tying her for second in the average with none other than World Champion barrel racer Emily Beisel of Oklahoma.
The top 12 athletes in each event from Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma battled for year-end and average titles, and the chance to represent the Prairie Circuit at the NFR Open in July 2025.
The Mountain States Circuit Finals are set to take place this weekend in Loveland, Colorado. The Mountain States Circuit is comprised of Colorado and Wyoming, though contestants from other states can declare membership within the circuit. The rodeo will take place at The Ranch Events Complex and feature the top 12 athletes in each event.

Earlier this Month JT Adamson of Cody, competed in the Badlands Circuit Finals in Minot ND and dominated the finals by winning all three rounds and the average. J.T. Adamson earned his first trip back to the NFR Open in two years after his clean sweep of the Badlands Circuit Finals.
