Parts of the KVSH listening area reported some much needed precipitation overnight Friday night into Saturday morning. The official precipitation at Valentine’s Miller Field was two hundredths of an inch, while the northeast reporting station from valentinenebraska.net showed just a hundredth. However, south of Valentine, there was more rain falling. The Colburns at our so-called “southern bureau” reported about a quarter of an inch while Thedford’s official rain gauge logged .30” of much needed rain. There were a few lightning strikes associated with this line of showers. Fortunately, no fires were reported. There may be more rain in the next week, as the national weather service is still predicting a chance of rain for Monday afternoon and again on Tuesday night.
