The Cherry County Hospital urges KVSH listeners to Beware of Medicare Scams!
Some patients have reported receiving scam calls with the Caller ID showing as Cherry County Clinic.
The callers are requesting personal information, including Medicare numbers.
PLEASE DO NOT PROVIDE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE.
Scammers can "spoof" the hospital and clinic phone numbers to deceive patients into thinking the calls are legitimate.
If you are asked for personal information or are unsure about the legitimacy of a call, do not hesitate to
hang up and contact the hospital or clinic directly.

Medicare will NEVER directly call you unless you have initiated contact with them. If you receive
an unsolicited call from someone claiming to be from Medicare, it is
a scam.
