A longtime Valentine High School teacher and coach has decided to retire from teaching and coaching after this school year. Devin Muirhead submitted his resignation to the school a few weeks ago. Mr. Muirhead has been a teacher and golf coach at Valentine High School for 27 years.
Listen to the Badger Highlights program at 9:10 this Saturday morning and at 8:05 Monday evening as we talk with coach Muirhead about his achievements at Valentine High School. One of the highlights of course is the 2007 girls state championship.
Coach Muirhead also enjoys seeing some of the young people he has coached continue to enjoy the sport as young adults.
It looks like at this time, two of his former athletes and now assistant coaches will be taking over the programs next year. Shawna Wheeler Houdek will take over the girls program and Brooks Coleman will be the head boys coach after next springs season.
