The Cherry County Hospital Ambulance Service was called for mutual aid to the report of a two vehicle accident just south of Merriman at about 11:30 central time. It was reported that there were two patients on scene of the accident, and Cherry County ambulance was assisted by an EMS crew from Mullen. No other details on that accident were immediately available.
Just after 2pm on Monday, the Valentine Volunteer Fire Department was requested to the 600 block of east 5th street. A single grass rig was requested to douse a back yard fire that had been put out, but needed to be properly extinguished. Crews were on scene for just a short time.
