A grass fire east of Mission consumed over 25 acres on Friday afternoon. According to Mission Volunteer Fire Chief Joe Moore, the initial page went out at about 1:56 central time. The fire, located east of Mission on Highway 18 and 3 miles south on Hidden Timber Road prompted multiple mutual aid requests from various departments including BIA and Wood, as well as Valentine and Tripp County. Multiple ranch rigs also helped in the suppression of the blaze.
