Whether you call it the fall equinox, autumnal equinox or the September equinox, the official end of Summer is Sunday, September 22. And this year, the KVSH listening area welcomes summer’s end with cooler temperatures. The National Weather Service is predicting much cooler temperatures this weekend. The weather is expected to be windy and could bring some much needed precipitation, as well.
Saturday will see winds as high as 50 miles per hour in north central Nebraska and South Central South Dakota, but also highs of about 72. Sunday highs only reaching the low to mid 60s.
The new week brings cooler temperatures, too. Monday and Tuesday are forecasted to have highs in the low to mid 70s, upper 70s and low 80s for the remainder of the week.
