Thanks in part to an AWARE grant, there will be a suicide awareness mini conference and screening of the documentary film “My Ascension”. The evening begins with the first session starting at 5:30, second session starting at 6:15, the screening of the documentary will begin at 7pm, and wrapping up with a question and answer session with Emma Benoit, film producer and suicide prevention experts from 8-8:30.
According to the CDC, roughly 20 young people die every day by suicide in the United States, and the suicide rate in Nebraska has increased by 32.2% over the past 20 years. These deaths are preventable. You’re asked to join the effort to prevent suicide in our community.
