Incidents/Arrests:
On 09/08/2024 at 7:11 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of Donaher Street. A 31 year old Valentine man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and flight to avoid arrest.
On 09/10/2024 at 11:10 am, an officer received a report of theft by deception. The case is under investigation.
On 09/10/2024 at 11:43 am, an officer was requested by the Valentine Community Schools to investigate an excessive absentee/truancy case. All investigative reports have been forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney for review.
On 09/11/2024 at 8:15 am, an officer received a report that an assault and child abuse had occurred in the 800 block of Donaher Street. A 35 year old Valentine man was identified as a suspect. All investigative reports have been forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney for review.
On 09/11/2024 at 7:01 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop near 1st and Cherry Streets. A 24 year old South Dakota woman was cited for no operator’s license and a child safety restraint violation.
On 09/14/2024 at 12:10 am, officers responded to the 400 block of west 4th Street for an assault resulting in minor injuries. The case is pending suspect identification.

On 09/12/2024 at 5:35 pm, a business alarm was sounding in the 200 block of north Main Street.
On 09/13/2024 at 10:48 am, a suspicious person was reported in the 200 block of east highway 20.
On 09/13/2024 at 7:03 pm, an assault was reported in the 300 block of north Ray Street.
