The local Sparks Nebraska Spurs chapter of Cowboy Fast Draw Association has a big event September 19th through the 22nd at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine. For just this year, A group from Kansas will host a Kansas State Championship on the 19th. The Sparks Spurs will host the Nebraska State Championship on September 20th and the Great Plains Territorial Championship on the 21st and 22nd. Three titled matches in 4 days is drawing a lot of attention from shooters across the country. The public is welcome to come watch the action during the 4 days of competition September 19th through the 22nd. Major sponsors at this time include Union Bank and Trust, Pietta Firearms and The Cherry County Visitors Promotion board. The host hotel is Niobrara Lodge and Hog Trough will be at the fairgrounds to provide concessions.
