Cherry County 4-H was well-represented at the Nebraska State Fair over opening
weekend. Seventy-seven static projects were on display from local youth, and six
individuals competed in in-person events.
Greyson Hollopeter participated in the Stocker Feeder show and received blue ribbons
for his two entries. He also received a blue for Intermediate Beef Showmanship.
Ella Brennemann and Grace Brennemann competed in the Poultry Show, each with a
single Plymouth Barred Rock class entry. Ella and Grace both received blue ribbons
in the breed class. Ella received a red in Senior Poultry Showmanship and Grace
received a blue.
Kate Cox, Brooklyn Coyle, and Laramie Foster modeled purchased "Shopping in Style"
outfits in the Fashion Show. Kate received a purple, Brooklyn received a blue, and
Laramie received a purple.
Ella Brennemann and Sarah Burge modeled constructed outfits. Ella's reconstructed
red prom dress earned her a purple and Sarah received a purple for her romper.
Rhonda Cherry, Cherry County 4-H Family & Consumer Sciences Committee member and
Quilts of Valor Coordinator, was honored at the State Fair for being an Outstanding
Volunteer in 2024.
