On 08/26/2024, officers from the Valentine Police Department were requested to assist the Nebraska District 8 Probation Office with a probationary search of a home in the 100 block of west B Street. Following an investigation and execution of a search warrant, a juvenile male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and child neglect. All other residents of the home were uninvolved in this incident. Other agencies that assisted in the investigation include the Cherry County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska Child and Family Services, and the Nebraska State Patrol.
