Preparations continue for the road closure of the bridge over the Minnechaduza Creek on Nebraska highway 12, 3 miles East of the Valentine City Limits. The road closure will occur between Labor Day (2024) and Memorial Day (2025). September 3, 2024 – May 23, 2025.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured utilizing highway US-83 North of Valentine, then unpaved county roads Whitetail Road, Nolett Road, and 906th Road before returning to Nebraska highway 12 near mile marker 7.
Message Boards are in place. “This Bridge Closes…..9/03/24 8 am.” NDOT will continue to inform the public to prepare them for the upcoming closure and detour.
Work to relocate utilities that conflict with this work is underway and expected to be complete before work starts. Expect lath placement for detour signs and other preparations on the unpaved county roads (detour).
