Cherry County Sheriff Rusty Osborn contacted KVSH news asking us to advise our listeners of another phone scam that has been reported to the sheriff’s office this week.

According to Sheriff Osborn, the caller claims to be a sgt. with a law enforcement agency.  The caller then goes on to state that you have missed a court appearance and that a warrant has been issued for your arrest.  This is not the case.

This is simply another common scam developed to get your information and ultimately, your money.  Listeners who receive this or any other scam calls are advised to hang up without providing any information, and then call your local law enforcement agency.
