Incidents/Arrests:
On 07/15/2024 at 4:19 am, officers from the Valentine Police Department and the Cherry County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 100 block of north Thatcher Street regarding a report of a burglary in progress and shots fired. A 27 year old South Dakota man has been identified as a suspect. A warrant will be sought.
On 07/15/2024 at 9:01 am, an officer received a delayed report of a theft from the 200 block of north Macomb Street. A 56 year old Colorado man has been identified as a suspect. A warrant will be sought.
On 07/15/2024 at 11:00 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of south Government Street. An 18 year old South Dakota man was cited for no driver’s license.
On 07/17/2024 at 7:30 am, the department received a report of child abuse and neglect. This investigation is ongoing.
On 07/17/2024 at 12:16 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop near Thatcher and Donaher Streets. A 25 year old South Dakota woman was cited for speeding.
