Niobrara Valley Vineyards held their official ribbon cutting and grand opening yesterday with a large crowd attending the mid afternoon event. Greg Nollette welcomed everyone and thanked those that were attending. There were a few short speeches from local entities who helped out from tourism to Cherry County. There were also representatives from Congressman Adrian Smiths office and Senator Deb Fischers office along with Nebraska Department of Economic Development. the new facility can host larger events, a new tasting room, outdoor patio area, camping hookups and walking path among other activities.
More people showed up in the evening for the pizza night, drinks and music by BJ Jamison and The Twin River Band. An estimated crowd of about 300 enjoyed the evening after an afternoon rain shower. This is also the 10th anniversary of Niobrara Valley Vineyards being in business.
The event continues Saturday culminating with food and music tonight by Mike, Lynn and Billie Baxter. The public is invited.
