Incidents/Arrests:
On 07/07/2024 at 5:59 pm, an officer responded to the 700 block of east highway 20 for a shoplifting report. A juvenile female has been identified as a suspect.
On 07/07/2024 at 11:57 pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of east highway 20. 5 men from Colorado were arrested for weapon law violations.
On 07/08/2024 at 8:17 pm, the Valentine Police Department responded to the 100 block of south Hall Street to assist in locating the parents/guardians of a young female. The investigation led officers to the 300 block of east 3rd Street where the child’s parent was located. A 41-year-old Valentine man was arrested for child neglect and unlawful possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. As the result of the investigation, a search warrant was served at the man’s home. An additional firearm was seized as a result of this search warrant.
On 07/09/2024 at 1:46 am, the department received a report of a sexual assault. A 31 year old Valentine man was arrested for sexual assault and strangulation.
On 07/12/2024 at 11:08 am, an officer responded to the 700 block of Candice Street for an assault. A 24 year old Valentine woman was arrested for assault.
On 07/13/2024 at 5:46 pm, a 43 year old man from South Dakota was arrested in the 300 block of north Main Street on an active warrant.
